What We Specialize In

Ovulation Timing
No matter what method of insemination you choose, timing is everything in breeding. We'll walk you through each step of the way to make sure you're prepared and informed. We take the guesswork out of the equation. Typically, we will recommend that we start seeing bitches for a pre-insemination consult 5- 7 days from the first day blood is first seen.

Semen collection & evaluation
Whether for your own use or to ship out, we have you covered. Semen collection can be performed as a spot check to determine your stud's semen quality, in cases of infertility, to teach a young stud or for shipment. We also perform a full semen evaluation for every sample that comes to our lab, including those we receive for insemination. We look at how much is there (concentration, volume), how well it moves and would be able to get to an egg (motility), how they are shaped (morphology), and give you an estimation on predicted fertility of the available sample in terms of an actual breeding dose. You'll have a report to keep and to share. Semen freezing & storage - coming soon

Insemination
MAVIC catheter vaginal insemination and TCI (transervical insemination) techniques are available for either side-by-side, shipped cooled or frozen semen samples. We will work together to come up with an ideal breeding plan based on how many breedings we have on that cycle, timing and cost. We can also guide you if you are planning to go to the stud dog for natural matings.
Why TCI? TCI has largely replaced surgical inseminations in the US. We do not perform surgical AI as the alternative is so much better. TCI is painless, drug-free, quick and the bitch just has to stand for a few minutes while being pet and having snacks while an endoscope is used to allow semen to be deposited directly into the uterus, right where they need to be.

Pregnancy
The wait begins! We're here from conception, to whelp and beyond. We will guide you on nutrition, lifestyle, and medications that are safe during pregnancy. We will take you from pregnancy diagnosis ultrasound, puppy count X-rays to everything to expect for whelp. Need to plan a c-section or not sure if you might need to? We'll help you figure out the best choice for your dam. Afterwards, we can help with puppy care until they go off to their new homes, dam health and addressing any postwhelp concerns - including any neonatal issues.
